CONTENT:
This site, sponsored in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation, presents intriguing and challenging math activities that families can do together.

AESTHETICS:
The cute, colorful, animated graphics are sure to appeal to the middle school age-group. Users will need Acrobat Reader, Shockwave, and Flash Player, which are available for download from the site.

ORGANIZATION:
This user-friendly site is well organized and easy to navigate.

REVIEW:
Figure This! gives parents and their children high-quality math challenges that are based on real-life problems. Middle school students are sure to enjoy solving the problems in the Take a Challenge section. Challenges are available in algebra, geometry, measurement, number, and statistics and probability. Each challenge has a notation that links it to the world of work. For instance, the principles of probability are applied in the field of genetics, the insurance industry, lotteries, and medical testing. The Family Corner offers parents resources for homework help, suggestions about making sure their children get the most out of math, tips on how to help children with math, and more.
