Artcyclopedia: The Fine Art Search Engine
http://www.artcyclopedia.com/
GRADE LEVEL: K-12

CONTENT:
This site is a comprehensive database of museum-quality fine art that can be viewed on the Internet.

AESTHETICS:
This site is simple in design and is service-oriented.

ORGANIZATION:
The well-organized site has a left-side navigation bar. The database is searchable by artist name, medium, movement, subject, and nationality.

REVIEW:
Artcyclopedia is an efficient way to find information concerning your favorite artist or work of art. The comprehensive database includes links to an estimated 80,000 works by 7,000 artists. Most of the artists are painters and sculptors, but artists who use other art forms are also included. The site is a great jumping off place to find the works of artists from Maria A'Becket, a 19th-century painter, to "Toots" Zynsky, an American glassmaker. Other features include a Top 30 Artists list, the Monthly Feature article, Art News, Art Links to other art sites on the Web, and a Talk Back section, where users can get the answers to their most pressing art questions.
