REVIEW:
The Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF) offers news and other resources dealing with safety. The area of most interest to teachers and parents is the Safety Education link. There are three free programs available to the public: “Safe-T Rider” for children, “A Safe Ride” for senior citizens, and National Elevator Escalator Safety Awareness Week for the general public. The Safe-T Rider program is geared to young children (appropriate for first through fourth graders). Teachers can order or download the materials, which include a video, a teacher's guide, activity books, lunch box stickers, safety tests, and certificates. There is also an interactive Web site for children.
