REVIEW:
The Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF) offers news and other resources dealing with safety but the area of most interest to teachers and parents is the Safety Education link. The program includes three free programs available to the public; “Safe-T Rider” for children, “A Safe Ride” for senior citizens and National Elevator Escalator Safety Awareness Week for the general public. The Safe-T Rider program is geared to second grade school children but is appropriate for first through fourth graders. Teachers can order or download the materials from the Web site. It includes a video, teachers guide, classroom poster, activity books, lunch box stickers, safety tests and certificates as well as an interactive online Web site at http://www.safetrider.org. Also available is a Safe Ride program for older adults including an interactive Website and National Elevator Escalator Safety Awareness Week (November 11-17, 2007) materials. |
