“According to a recent survey by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE), many parents, concerned about escalating childhood obesity rates and the rise of Type II diabetes, see daily physical activity as key to optimal health and academic success. Over 76% think more school physical education could help control or prevent childhood obesity.” This site advocates the use of “energizers,” that is, classroom-based physical activities that integrate physical activity with academic concepts. The 58 page Energizers booklet for grades K-5 can be downloaded in one .PDF file for free or ordered from the site. The middle school Energizers booklets are available for language arts, math, music, science, social studies, and healthful living and can also be downloaded for free or ordered from the site.
