REVIEW:
PBS Teachers is the portal for all the educational resources and services that PBS offers. Teachers looking for curriculum materials in any subject area or grade level need look no further. This is a one stop source of standards based resources as well as information on effective ways to use media and technology in the classroom or home school setting. Free standards based lesson plans, activities, and multimedia resources are available on a wide range of subject areas and grade levels. The database can be searched by subject, curriculum topic, and grade level. A link in the top menu, Programs A-Z, leads to a comprehensive listing of PBS programming. A new blog, Media Infusion, invites teachers to share ideas about using multimedia resources to address instructional challenges. Early childhood educators and library media and tech coordinators will find a section devoted to them and their particular interests such “best practices,” media literacy, and copyright and fair use. Visitors will also find links to family resources, online professional development courses at PBS Teacherline, Television schedules for local PBS stations, and a shop for purchasing videos.
