CONTENT:
Lessonsense.com was created by a teacher in the Netherlands and includes lesson ideas, crafts, worksheets, and other downloadable teaching materials for kindergarten and elementary school teachers. Best of all, it is free for classroom use.
SITE DESIGN:
This site has a simple design with a top menu bar for navigation to the main areas. The bulk of the content is organized into themes, which are accessible from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Adobe Acrobat Reader is needed to print the downloadable materials.
 

REVIEW:
Early elementary teachers, student teachers, and parents will find a wealth of teacher-created, original teaching materials at this site. Materials are grouped into themes such as animals, autumn, body, color, Christmas, Easter, fish, Halloween, numbers, phonics, and shapes. Each theme includes lesson suggestions and/or crafts that can be downloaded and used to create your units and lesson plans. Also available are colorful, printable flashcards and games such as Go Fish, Sound Bingo, and Word Memory. All are ready to be printed and used in the classroom free of charge.
