BEN: BiosciEdNet is managed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and contains thousands of reviewed resources covering a wide variety of biological sciences topics. Registration is required but free.

This well-designed site makes finding what you need simple. Resources can be located in a variety of ways: keyword search, advanced search, browse by subject, browse by resource type, or browse by audience/level. A handy site map is also available.
 

REVIEW:
The BEN portal holds a wealth of reviewed resources for teaching and learning about the biological sciences. The topics include agriculture, anatomy, bacteriology, biodiversity, botany, cell biology, ecology, environment, evolution, genetics, human biology, microbiology, neurobiology, pathology, respiratory biology, soil biology, toxicology, wildlife science, zoology, and others. The learning resources include images, journal articles, animations, audio, video, Web casts, and more. Each resource record brings up a brief description that includes title, author, keywords, education information such as audience and pedagogical use, copyright or usage restrictions, and technical information such as file type and size.
