REVIEW:
This site is rich in resources for teaching and learning about the Holocaust. The Online Teachers Workshops offer teachers support in teaching this difficult topic. It includes video of the actual workshop session held at the Museum, historical and artifact photographs, text, and links to related sites within the Museum's Web site. Best of all is the print companion to the workshop: Teaching about the Holocaust: A Resource Book for Educators. It "provides guidelines for teaching about the Holocaust, a historical summary and chronology, and an annotated bibliography and videography on Holocaust-related topics" and can be downloaded and printed or viewed online. Five exemplary lesson plans are available as well as a lesson template for creating and submitting your own. The Learning Center for middle and high school students organizes content by theme and includes text, historical photographs, maps, images of artifacts, and audio clips to provide an overview of the Holocaust. Online activities are available to give students the opportunity to learn more by examining the online exhibits and completing the activities.
