CONTENT:
Simple Steps To Better Dental Health offers a wealth of information about dental health to users of all ages. The Aetna Company developed the site in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in an effort to better educate the public on oral health.
AESTHETICS:
This interactive site is well designed and user friendly. Flash Player is required.
ORGANIZATION:
The three main informational areas of the site are listed with submenus in the left side navigation menu. Topics of interest to special groups (i.e. seniors, parents, students, professionals) are featured on the main page. Internal pages have a top navigation bar for moving within the site.

REVIEW:
This site makes it "easy for people of all ages to find the information they need in language they can understand". It's a comprehensive resource offering anything you would ever want to know about dental health. Information is organized into three major sections: Prevent Problems, Understand Conditions, and Explore Treatments. The interactive tools, diagrams, and animations make the information easily understood. Topics discussed range from the most basic such as brushing and flossing to the sequence of gum disease and root canal treatment. Additionally there are special sections for seniors, parents, and children. Students will find games, a video about visiting the dentist, an interactive activity about what is in your mouth and information about sealants. Elementary teachers will be able to use these resources as a supplement to a unit on dental hygiene.
