StudyStack.com
Flash card pedagogy, enhanced by online technology.
Grade Level: 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, Advanced

http://www.studystack.com/java-studysta/frames.jsp

CONTENT:
StudyStack, as the name suggest, is a site to help students learn facts, study for tests or review information in a variety of subject areas.
AESTHETICS:
The site is colorful and inviting with the links to various subject areas displayed as a stack of books. The layout uses frames and a Java enabled browser is required. Users will have to contend with the pop-up ads.
ORGANIZATION:
Navigation is simple with links to the various subject areas in the left navigation menu. Visitors simply click on the subject of choice and then select from an index of "stacks." A link back to the homepage is provided at the top of each page.

REVIEW:
Students will enjoy learning facts at this interactive and fun site. Virtual cards are available in Geography, Math, Science, History, Medicine, and Languages. Teachers can register, for free, to create their own stacks or edit the existing stacks for students to review. Additionally registered users can track their progress and edit the colors used by the website. Each stack of virtual cards can be used just like flashcards, discarding them as you learn the information and keeping the ones that need more work. "However, unlike traditional flash cards, each card can show multiple pieces of information; and the whole stack can be automatically sorted by any one of the pieces of information." Users can choose the format for studying the information: flashcards, table information or matching. The information can also be printed for studying offline.
