BAM! is a site designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It offers answers to kids' questions about health and safety, as well as activities that can be used to supplement educational curricula in these areas.
AESTHETICS:
BAM! uses graphics and colors to target young teens. The text is clear and the site is attractive.
ORGANIZATION:
This site offers a top navigation bar with graphic links. The main page offers both graphic and text links.
REVIEW:
BAM! is designed to be a health information resource for students and their teachers. Sections of the site deal with nutrition, exercise, disease control, and staying safe while enjoying all kinds of sports and activities. Other topics include emotional issues, social issues, and puberty. The site also offers a teacher's section with lesson plans, activities, and downloadable resources available in printer-friendly pdf format.
