Kids.gov
The U.S. government's gateway to the Web for kids.
Grade Level: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12

http://www.kids.gov/

CONTENT:
Kids.gov is a Web portal to government Web sites for kids. In addition to the government sites, links are available to organization and commercial pages.
AESTHETICS:
This is an attractive site with clean, simple graphics and text that is large and easy to read.
ORGANIZATION:
The site divides its content by grade level and subject area, and the top navigation bar offers links to each section. A site map and a search tool are also available to make navigation easier.
REVIEW:
Kids.gov is maintained by the Federal Citizen Information Center. It was designed to be a gateway to other sites that are appropriate information sources for students. The content is categorized by grade level, and the grade level categories are organized by educational subjects. Each section offers links to numerous sites of interest to kids. Educational subjects include arts, careers, computers and technology, government, math, science, social studies, and others. The section about careers offers links to many sites with information about jobs and planning for the future. FirstGov has attempted to choose links that offer safe, reliable information, but also warns users that these links are subject to change. FirstGov encourages parents to be alert to what sites their children are visiting and offers a warning to children not to give out any personal information.
