REVIEW:
Kids.gov is maintained by the Federal Citizen Information
Center. It was designed to be a gateway to other sites that are appropriate
information sources for students. The content is categorized by grade level, and the grade level categories are organized by educational subjects. Each section offers links to numerous sites of interest
to kids. Educational subjects include arts, careers, computers and technology, government, math, science, social studies, and others. The section about careers offers links to many sites with information about jobs and planning
for the future. FirstGov has attempted to choose links that offer safe, reliable
information, but also warns users that these links are subject to
change. FirstGov encourages parents to be alert to what sites their
children are visiting and offers a warning to children not to give
out any personal information. |
