CONTENT:
"The Museum of Musical Instruments (MoMI) gives people a unique opportunity to examine, explore, and experience the finest examples of 19th and 20th Century musical instruments."
AESTHETICS:
The site uses a black background, white text, and colorful borders. Internet Explorer is recommended for viewing this site. Netscape users will find that some of the features do not display and the pages are slow loading.
ORGANIZATION:
A left-side menu gives access to the main sections of the site. Sub-menus for each section make navigating to the topic of choice easy for visitors.
REVIEW:
Music lovers of all ages will enjoy the Museum of Musical Instruments (MoMI). This virtual museum, which focuses on the guitar, features collections of the various periods and movements of American music, including ragtime, hip, jazz, country/western, and Spanish. Visitors to the site can view photos of the guitars of such great artists as John Lennon, Les Paul, Woody Guthrie, and Elvis Presley. The Exhibitions section features multimedia presentations such as Bound for Glory: The Life and Times of Woody Guthrie, The Genius of Lloyd Loar, the ZigZag Moderne Style, and more. Included also are selected newspaper and magazine articles.
