Mighty Book
Promote the love of reading with online books.
Grade Level: Pre-K-8

http://www.mightybook.com/home.htm

CONTENT:
The mission of Mighty Book is to promote "Literacy, Creativity and the Power of Reading." It offers online books, videos, music and more.
AESTHETICS:
Mighty Book uses bright colors and Flash technology to deliver a child-friendly site that is fun and interactive. Flash Player and Real Player are required for viewing the site.
ORGANIZATION:
The site uses graphical links for easy navigation. A top navigation bar and an index at the bottom of each page make navigating easy.
Encourage your children and students to love books and experience the joy of reading with this creative Web site. Children can enter the library that corresponds to their age group: 2-4, 4-6, 6-8, 8-10 or pre-teen. By mousing over each book that has a star, visitors can preview the book before they choose. Books can be read aloud or the sound can be turned off for independent reading. Most of the stories are presented in Flash format. Mighty Book isn't just for books though. Students can visit the Videoplex to find edutainment music videos and animations on such topics as animals and great humanitarians. This area of the site is available for low bandwidth as well as high-speed connections. There are also a Video Song Book and a Jukebox in the music section. Additionally, students will find interactive vocabulary games and puzzles, and a special area is available for parents and teachers.
