AwesomeStories.com uses stories as interactive learning tools, allowing visitors to explore related primary documents.
AESTHETICS:
This site uses color and cute graphics to attract visitors, and the layout is appealing yet uncluttered and neat.
ORGANIZATION:
The site is organized into several categories, or channels, that are listed on the main page. Each internal page has a top navigation bar that provides links to other areas of the site.
REVIEW:
AwesomeStories.com takes stories (involving history, disasters, famous trials, movies, biographies, inspiration, religion, and sports) and brings them to life by linking each story to actual manuscripts, paintings, historical maps, illustrations, data, and graphics. Users are encouraged to read the stories, examine the primary source material, and draw their own conclusions. The stories cover topics such as the Cuban missile crisis, the Great Depression, the history of flight, the trial of Lizzie Borden, Jim Crow laws, the biographies of Sacajawea and Benedict Arnold, and much more.
