Lesson Plan

Note: This activity can be completed as a class activity in a lab setting, or, in a one-computer classroom, by having students take turns completing the assignment.

Fractions can be tough to master for many students. Cynthia Lanius has created a Web site to help students review and practice such basic concepts as equivalent fractions, adding fractions, and multiplying fractions. Her site provides a discussion, review, and additional practice area for each topic. Check it out!

Begin the lesson with a class discussion to review what students already know about fractions. Then tell students they are going to review those concepts again online. Explain to students what part(s) of the online lesson to complete, and then have each student individually go to Who Wants Pizza? to complete the assignment.

Assessment

Students self-assess their progress as they work on this interactive site.
