Clean and Crime Free

Sometimes, classroom management is less about talking and more about keeping things neat, tidy, and together. The next time you teach a tech lesson, save your sanity -- and your hard-earned money -- with the following tips.

The Dirty Truth

Do you think that all your students are squeaky clean? Or that all your colleagues are germ-free? Think again! Check out Germs Spread Into School Curriculum: Hand-Washing Saves the Day to learn the dirty truth and to discover how to keep yourself and your students healthier this year.

Keep Your Money
Keep an eye on oft-pilfered trackballs.

When students leave the computer lab or classroom computer center, make sure they turn the mouse upside down, so you can check easily to make sure the trackball is still there.

Keep It Clean
Clean hands kill germs, not viruses.

Keep keyboards clean and cut down on germs by always having students wash their hands, or use hand sanitizer/baby wipes before using computers.

Keep It Streamlined
Be sure all unnecessary programs are closed.

Always have students check to make sure that all extraneous applications and windows are closed, and that the sound is turned down or off before starting a lesson.
