Tech in the Classroom:

Wireless HD Extender

What is itThe ST121WHD Wireless HD Video Extender Kit includes both a WHDI transmitter and WHDI receiver, enabling you to wirelessly send a full HD (1080p) video signal, as well as audio and IR, from a high-definition signal source to a remote HD display or projector located up to 100 feet away.

How does it work?  The kit comes with two main hardware pieces—a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is connected to the media device (Blu-Ray player, computer or digital media player), while the receiver is connected to the HD television. When activated, the transmitter takes the media from the player and sends it wirelessly to the receiver, which displays it on screen.

wirelessHow hard is it to use? This is a simple, plug-and-play device. Once everything is connected and paired, the media can be sent.

How well does it work? Compliant with both HDCP and WHDI standards, the WHDI transmitter/receiver kit ensures that even the latest devices will be able to pass a signal, with support for full 1080p resolutions and the accompanying digital audio. The kit also enables users to control the source device remotely, using the IR extender for a complete HD extension solution. The end result is a full HD experience without running wires across the room.

How do I use it in the classroom? For any educator who wants to display HD media but doesn’t want to go through a lengthy rewiring process or have cables running across the floors, the HD extender is a brilliant solution.
