Site Review: All Things D[igital]

Site URL: AllThingsD.com

Content:  AllThingsD is a respected voice with respect to news, analysis and opinion on technology, the Internet and media.

Design: The site uses a straightforward blog-type layout. The most current articles are placed at the top of the page, and older pieces fall vertically beneath them. The articles themselves are clean and simple, with a variety of related and promoted content placed in sidebars on either side. A handy feature allows users to browse articles written by a specific writer, so they can follow their favorites.

Review:  AllThingsD is one of the most respected sites dedicated to—as its name implies—the digital world. Here, users find breaking news, expert commentary and well-produced features. This makes the site an excellent place for teachers to find lesson inspiration and stay on top of the latest tech trends.

You don’t have to be a technophile or AV teacher to get something from AllThingsD. Social studies teachers can benefit from stories that examine social media use, or explain how political campaigns use mobile apps. Likewise, administrators can keep abreast of hardware innovations so that they’re up to speed when the “next big thing” becomes available.

Bottom Line:  This site covers everything digital, and that’s exactly why every educator should make it a daily stop.
