Education World's Millennium Series!

Join Education World in 2000 for a year-long celebration of the millennium!

Each month we will present a special issue focused on some of history's most teachable moments. Together, the lesson plans and resources presented will form a timeline of some of the most important events, people, and places of the past millennium.

This month, we introduce our Millennium Series with special lessons and links to great resources for teaching about the Middle Ages.

  • Days and Knights: A Unit on the Middle Ages
You've tried an activity or two on the Middle Ages --- and your students are begging for more. This is the kind of topic cross-curricular units are made of. Don't miss your chance! Included: A teacher-created unit on the Middle Ages!

  • Great Sites for Teaching the Middle Ages
Each week, Education World's "Great Sites for Teaching About " page highlights Web sites that will help educators work timely themes into their lessons. This week's sites are among the best on the Web for teaching about the Middle Ages.

  • The Middle Ages: Twelve Activities Take Students Back in Time
In one of this week's Education World LESSON PLANNING stories, learn how a unit on the Middle Ages inspired great writing among fourth and fifth graders in Chandler, Arizona. Also: Twelve great activities for teaching about the Middle Ages.
