Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Introduces Educational Services Program For K-12

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) will be making education services more accessible for educators worldwide with the new HMH Education Services, a new organization that aims to offer a target set of tools for K-12 districts, administrators and educators.

“HMH Education Services will provide a full spectrum of support, from technical planning and curriculum implementation guidance to district-wide data analysis and school improvement offerings,” according to a company press release. “The team will also introduce new ways to deliver professional development to educators, including additional digital and blended learning options.”

Educators and administrators will be introduced to a plethora or tools at their fingertips with the new services. The company seems to be aiming towards making educators more efficient and providing them with the analysis they need to make the proper adjustments to their curriculum.

Along with the services mentioned above comes a “‘Digital Learning Essentials’ series, which offers best practice training for technology-enhanced instruction, and ‘AskHMH,’ an online teacher resource available 24/7,” according to the press release.

The company will bridge the gap between educators overseas and the U.S. with the 24/7 “AskHMH service.” Educators will be able to find what they need whenever they need it with the readily available content provided.

“Our customers’ needs and environments are changing and we’re changing with them,” said Chris Goodson, SVP of Education Services at HMH. “Technology is transforming the way we teach and learn, as well as how we connect with educators, students and parents – both inside and outside the classroom.  This transformation requires a new way of thinking about and delivering services to our customers, and we have reshaped our organization to do just that.”

The new service is estimating to reach 400,000 educators a year and allows educators to build their own customized services portfolio from their menu of solutions.

Their “comprehensive menu” includes: “leadership and transformational support at school and district level, data analysis and implementation offerings, technology readiness and planning services, including implementing 1:1 learning, professional development and training at teacher and classroom level, formative and summative assessment tools and services and curriculum-specific services, including in-person and online support.”

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt is a global learning company that provides tools to educators, administrators and parents. Their new Education Services is another tool aimed towards making teaching more efficient for students in K-12.
