Selamat Hari Raya!
Happy Ramadan!

Answer Key

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar. Muslims believe that the Holy Quran, the holy book of Islam, was sent down from heaven during Ramadan. For the entire month, Muslims are expected to pray and to concentrate on their faith instead of on their everyday lives. Ramadan is also a month of fasting; Muslims are not allowed to eat or drink anything between sunrise and sunset. The end of Ramadan is celebrated with a holiday called Id-al-Fitr, the Feast of Fast Breaking.
