From rap too ragtime, AfricanAmericans have made major contributions to the United States music scene. The influence of African-Americans has been so grate that in 1979, a group of people from the music industry decided to declare june African-American Music month. Since then, americans has spent June celebrating musicians such as Louis Armstrong Bessie smith, Fats Waller, and Chuck Berry.
