Brief Description
Students draft a set of Chicana rights resolutions.
Objectives
Students research events relating to the Chicana rights movement and analyze the 1973 Chicana Caucus Resolutions.

Materials Needed
Lesson Plan
- Arrange students into four groups and assign each group one of the following events: the Talmadge Act, the Women's Education Act of 1973, the Farah boycott, or the Lettuce boycott. Ask each group to research its assigned event.
- Have each group read the 1973 Chicana Caucus Resolutions and explain how its assigned event connects to those resolutions.
- Ask members of each group to role-play roles at the NWPC that explain the group's political agenda.
- After each presentation, allow time for students to debate how they feel about each group's agenda.
- Have each student create his or her own list of Chicana Caucus Resolutions.

Assessment
Evaluate students on the accuracy and quality of their oral and written presentations.
