Lesson Plan
- Discuss general information about the Iditarod Sled Dog Race.
- Distribute printouts of last year's standings and times and graph paper to students. Tell students to sequence the times from the shortest to the longest and create graphs showing the information.
Variations:
- If computers with a spreadsheet program are available to all students, have students create their graphs as spreadsheets.
- Have students arrange their graphs by year.
- For younger students: Have students work together in small groups to create their graphs.
Assessment
Evaluate students' graphs.
