Brief Description

Students solve a series of word puzzles, or "word-zles"! You know the word puzzles we're talking about. Here are a few examples:

DEATH LIFE = life after death

DICE DICE = paradise (pair of dice)

MAN BOARD = man overboard (man over board)

WEAR LONG = long underwear (long under wear)

Objectives

Students work alone or in groups to solve a series of word puzzles.

Lesson Plan

Ask students to solve the word puzzles on the Word-zles work sheet. Extension: Make up more work sheets using puzzles at these resources:
