Brief Description

Students create a travel brochure to persuade an insect to come for a visit.

Objectives

Students will

  • become familiar with concepts of autotroph, heterotroph, producer, consumer, herbivore, carnivore, and omnivore.
  • observe different insect habitats and find reasons some habitats may suit certain insects better than others.

Assessment

Student participation is assessed through observation and performance assessment. Travel brochures are graded according to criteria outlined in the Insect Travel Brochure/Ad Campaign Grading Rubric available online.
