Web Site Recommendations by Principals;
Up-to-Date Research

"I really like being able to quickly go to the Web sites you have listed to access important information to me as building principal. I find that the information I've been able to access is useful to both myself and our staff. Your site is very user-friendly for the very busy principal! Thank you!

"More articles, Web sites forwarded by principals, and other timely information would be welcomed. I also feel that a section devoted to the most up-to-date research would be welcomed by principals.

Dear Paul,

Many thanks for the kind words. Although we do not currently dedicate an area of the site to up-to-date research, many of our sections and features offer articles on "hot topics" in education. Our Strategy of the Week feature highlights many classroom strategies that work; that feature provides background research as well as teacher-tested ideas related to research-proven strategies. A couple other good places to begin your search for the latest research are our search engine and our School Issues Glossary, which offers an A to Z guide to some of our best "issues" content.

I'm sure you have noticed that we have put a lot of effort recently into beefing up our offerings for administrators. Leadership is so critical to our nation's schools! Go to our "Administrator's Desk" home page to see our most recent articles for administrators and many other great features, such as our practical Principal Files articles, our "How I Handled…" feature, our Wire Side Chats with education newsmakers, and our content on Teacher Training and Parent Involvement.

Probably the most valuable resource we offer for school leaders is our weekly Administrators Desk Newsletter. We think every principal should be on this mailing list, which highlights new and timely content on our site. In addition to links to all the latest admin content, each weekly edition highlights a "top ten list" of content for teachers. (Throw one or two valuable links into your staff bulletin each week. Your teachers are sure to appreciate it!) If you are not on this newsletter mailing list, sign up today. Once you see what we have to offer, we know you will want to spread the word to your admin colleagues.

We should also mention that we are busy planning ahead too. Watch this summer for several new features for school leaders!
