Mr. Scarecrow Action Poem

Help children learn this scarecrow rhyme and the actions that appear in brackets. For fun you may have children wear straw hats as they perform.

Silly Mr. Scarecrow
Standing all alone.
   [stand straight, arms at sides]
Will you make the crows
[wave arms to scare off crows]
Leave the corn alone?

Scary Mr. Scarecrow
Fierce as you can be.
   [make scary faces]
You might scare away the crows
But you won't scare me!
[say the last line loud as they point to themselves]
