What or who inspired you to become a teacher?
I've evolved this direction in an intuitive and fortuitous manner over the years as an offshoot of my media/communications and arts background.
How are things different for you now, compared to when you first started teaching?
They are different in that the intensity has grown.
What advice would you give to a new or struggling teacher?
Offer the students a challenge...do not allow boredom to set in.
My best day in the classroom was when…
Every day is a "best day." I won't have it any other way, as my students are motivated, engaged and empowered.
The best compliment I ever received was...
"You're cool," from a student.
What's your favorite part of the school year?
All school year, as the students do their "thing" as a part of the personalized response to the challenge by the teacher.
What is your one must-have item for the classroom?
A laser pointer.
What do you eat for breakfast on school days?
Fruit.
What movie or TV show do you secretly love?
"The Day the Earth Stood Still" (original version)
