Each week, Education World offers a new idea to help you "make over" boring book report formats. If you're looking for a way to spice up book reports -- and truly engage students in reading -- you've come to the right place. Check out this week's makeover idea
Students appeal to their classmates' stomachs by making an edible book report.
Have students locate a recipe for a food dish that's mentioned in a recently read book or for a food dish that's representative of the book's setting. Encourage students to share their recipes with their classmates and to explain how the dish relates to the book read.
If possible, hold a food tasting day. Have students prepare their recipes at home and bring samples to school to share with their classmates.
