September 26th is Johnny Appleseed's birthday. Education World celebrates with a bushel of apple-related Web sites for students of all ages!

One teacher's successful "Apple a Day" Internet project has spawned a new project. Join teacher Susan Silverman in the "Pumpkin Patch" this year. Getting involved is as easy as pie!

Apple Adjectives
Working in cooperative groups, students will use the Dole internet site to identify and alphabetize apples; make and read information in table format; and construct a bar graph and/or a pie chart.

An Apple Notepad for Parents
Students create a special notepad for parent-teacher communication throughout the school year.

Applesauce Taste Test
A fun fall activity. Students follow directions as they make applesauce and/or create a graph showing the results of a classroom applesauce taste test. Then they use a free online tool to create a graph.
